Type A's CEO recognized as an “Entrepreneurship Trailblazer”

CHICAGO (17 April 2002)- Anna Belyaev Named by Illinois State Treasurer’s Office Women’s Advisory Board as Recipient of “Woman to Woman: Making a Difference” Award

Recently, Anna Belyaev of Type A Learning Agency, a leading Chicago-based e-learning company, was recognized as an “Entrepreneurship Trailblazer” by the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office Women’s Advisory Board. Sponsored by Illinois State Treasurer Judy Baar Topinka, the first annual Woman to Woman: Making A Difference Awards Ceremony celebrated the outstanding achievements of women in Illinois.

Recipients of the Woman to Woman Making A Difference Award were selected by the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office Women’s Advisory Board. The nominees were evaluated for their assistance in empowering others by serving as a positive role model, raising social conscience, promoting diversity, establishing opportunities for self- improvement, promoting positive inter-group relations, or establishing new or innovative programs.

“I had the great fortune of being mentored by women who significantly contributed to my development as an entrepreneur,” said Anna Belyaev, CEO of Type A Learning Agency. “I am grateful to receive the Woman to Woman: Making A Difference award – not only on my behalf, but also on the behalf of those who have helped me along the way.”

Over the past 15 years, Anna Belyaev has contributed to the advancement of women by being a teacher, mentor and volunteer, artist, and an entrepreneur. In her role as co-founder of Type A Learning Agency, Anna has assisted women to launch or expand businesses, providing business consulting and support during critical junctures.

“The recipients of the Woman to Woman: Making A Difference award are the trailblazers in the fields of business, entrepreneurship, and workforce development,” said Judy Baar Topinka, Illinois State Treasurer. “They are making a difference advancing not only women, but society. I congratulate each of them for their outstanding efforts in promoting the advancement of women in our state.”

The 2002 Woman to Woman: Making a Difference Award recipients were selected by the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office Women’s Advisory Board, a committee of advisory board members who are experts in the fields of education, business, law, entrepreneurship, and volunteerism. The committee was charged to select women who, through their personal or work experience, have made a tangible difference in the lives of other women and girls.
