Type A launches prestigious e-learning think tank

CHICAGO (14 November 2005) -Type A Learning Agency is excited to announce the genesis of the Chicago Learning Council. Brainchild of Type A's CEO, Anna Belyaev and Deloitte Consulting LLP's Craig Friedman, the Council seeks to instigate economic growth and development in Chicago around the field of e-learning.

"The greater Chicagoland area has been at the heart and center of educational technology for many years," Belyaev contends, citing dozens of trend-setting academic programs, companies, and initiatives that have emerged on our soil over the past decade. "In founding this Council, it is my intention to leverage the City's intellectual and social assets in this area for the economic advantage of our community, before the window of opportunity closes."

Founded in the Fall of 2005, the Council seeks to transform Chicago into the Silicon Valley of Learning. Led by an appointed group of influential leaders, the Council will instigate conversations and collaborations to drive the advancement of e-learning in areas that are important to our local economy. The topic of conversation? How to move the e-learning industry forward with Chicago at the epicenter.

"I've spent my entire adult career helping individuals and organizations learn to work better," shares Friedman, a Manager at Deloitte Consulting LLP. "The Chicago Learning Council provides me a vehicle for applying this experience to the even bigger challenge of creating a vibrant local economy that can learn and adapt quickly in the face of anything."

By sparking innovation and collaboration in every sector of our local economy, the Council seeks to create a future wherein individuals, organizations, and governments from around the world turn to Chicago for 21st Century education solutions, policy innovations, HR and career services, and workforce development.
