Chicago-based startup launches interactive kiosk program for General Motors in the 2000 Auto Show circuit

CHICAGO (20 January 2000) – Type A Learning Agency LLC shone with hometown pride at the 92nd Chicago Auto Show where its popular Build Your Own Pontiac interactive touchscreen kiosk program made its local debut. Build Your Own Pontiac is a key feature in the Pontiac/GMC display in the 2000 Auto Show Circuit.

Kiosks featuring Build Your Own Pontiac have been traveling throughout North America since early November, 1999, when they debuted concurrently at the Boston, MA and Tampa, FL Auto Shows. They will visit 42 cities by the tour’s end at New York City, in April, 2000, with the potential of being seen by an estimated 6 million people.

Type A developed the CD-ROM program in partnership with Pontiac/GMC, Exhibitgroup Giltspur, and BlueWater Visual Services. In a virtual dealership environment, the program guides attendees through choices including body style, trim package, color, and wheel choice, in order to build their personalized Pontiac. When the visitor finishes building their Pontiac, a takeaway piece prints out that includes a picture of the vehicle, its specs, and local dealer contact information. The product features engaging sounds and graphics, 3D animations, and a variety of other special effects, guaranteeing visitors to the Pontiac exhibit a memorable experience.
