Anna Belyaev, chief executive officer

Anna is to Type A what a compass is to seafaring. As cofounder and chief executive, she helps set the standards and chart the course for Type A and for many of our clients. Pragmatic and resourceful, Anna is valued for the insight and ideas she brings to complex engagements, and can always be counted on to take human factors, the big picture, and long-term objectives into account.

Experience
Anna graduated magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Lawrence University with a BA in Slavic Languages and Literature, and went on to earn an MA in Russian Literature and History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has been actively involved in high tech for over 15 years, having got her start at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) in the group that produced Telnet, Spyglass, and Netscape.

Recognized by the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office as an Entrepreneurship Trailblazer, Anna is frequently consulted about industry trends by parties as diverse as the Italian Trade Commission and the Canadian Department of Economic Development. She also serves on a variety of boards and leadership councils and was most recently appointed to the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA), elected to the Economic Club of Chicago, and named co-chair of the Education Program Development SIG for the Association Forum of Chicagoland.

What it means to be Type A
"Type A means being so driven and so responsible and so committed to excellence, that it takes special care to maximize what you bring to the world without self-destructing."
